Babe Ruth World Series Baseball will return
to Jamestown in August 2011 as the city hosts the 13-15 Year
Old Babe Ruth World Series.
2009 Babe Ruth World Series Training Center
will be hosted on Saturday, October 17, 2009. Representatives
from Babe Ruth Leagues Ocala, Florida and Wilson County, North
Carolina will be present.

Overview
The 2008 13-Year-Old Babe Ruth World Series will be held in Jamestown,
New York from August 16-23. This is the 14th total World Series
hosted in the city of Jamestown. The city hosted the first ever
13-Year-Old Babe Ruth World Series in 1980 and also hosted its
second year in 1981. Since then, Jamestown has hosted this age
group for its 10th, 20th and 25th year anniversary's in 1990,
2000, and 2005 respectively. All 25 games of the tournament will
be held at Russell E. Diethrick, Jr. Park, home of the Single
A Jamestown Jammers of the minor league NY-Penn league. In 1997
the stadium was re-named in honor of Diethrick, a long-time supporter
of local baseball and currently the Host President of the BRWS
Committee.
Championship Format
Each of the 10 teams in the World Series will play four round-robin
style games over the first five days of play. Teams will be split
into two divisions, National and American. Each team will play
the other four teams in their division. A tie in standings will
be broken by head-to-head records then fewest total runs allowed.
After pool play the top three teams in each division will advance
to a single elimination bracket, with the top seed in each division
receiving byes.
