Pacific Northwest Knocks Off Ohio Valley 9-6

JAMESTOWN, N.Y. – The Pacific Northwest squad (1-1) defeated Ohio Valley (2-1) with a score of 9-6 in a National Division pool play contest at Diethrick Park in Jamestown on Monday afternoon.

Jake Biscay got the win on the mound for the Pacific Northwest, pitching five innings, giving up one earned run, walking two and striking out five. Biscay also hit an RBI triple at the plate in the seventh inning and scored two runs.

Ande Grantham went 2-for-5 with two RBI and a double to contribute to the PNW offensive attack and came in to pitch in the bottom of the seventh to earn the save.

Pacific Northwest scored three runs in both the first and fifth innings to strengthen their lead.

Ohio Valley rallied in the bottom of the seventh inning to put four runs across, but it wasn’t enough.

Ryan Brumbaugh paced Ohio Valley by going 3-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI.

The Pacific Northwest will next play the Western New York on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. and Ohio Valley will play their final pool play game on Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. against the Southwest.
