Sikeston, Missouri Erupts for 11 Runs in First Inning in Win
Team representing Midwest Plains moves on to semifinals

JAMESTOWN, N.Y. – Sikeston, Missouri of the Midwest Plains exploded for 11 runs in the first inning and knocked out Ohio Valley, 11-9 in a quarterfinal game at the 13-Year-Old Babe Ruth World Series in Jamestown, N.Y. on Thursday evening.
Sikeston advances to the semifinals and where they will face Bryant, Arkansas of the Southwest Region at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
In the first inning, the Midwest Plains sent 16 batters to the plate, scoring 11 runs on eight hits. However, this would be all the runs that the team would get for the rest of the game.
