Bryant Moves On To Championship Game

JAMESTOWN, N.Y. – The Southwest Region Champions from Bryant, Ark. won 13-8 in a semifinal game over Sikeston, Mo. of the Midwest Plains at the 13-Year-Old Babe Ruth World Series at Diethrick Park in Jamestown, N.Y. on Friday night. Bryant will play in the championship game on Saturday at 1 p.m. against the winner of the California-New York game.

Bryant trailed 6-2 going into the bottom of the second inning, but mounted a six-run rally in the frame to take control of the game at 8-6. The Midwest Plains plated two more runs in the top of the fourth but the Southwest answered right back by crossing four runners in the bottom of the inning to take a 12-8 lead.

Hayden Daniel, Tyler Nelson, Marcus Wilson, Zach Cambron and Blain Jackson each had two hits in a well-balanced Bryant-attack. Nelson, Wilson, Tyler Green and Zach Cambron each had two RBI and Wilson ran wild on the base paths, stealing five bases.

Zach Cambron earned the win on the mound for Arkansas, pitching four innings and giving up only two runs.

The Ron Tellefsen Player’s of the Game were Cambron and Josh King of Sikeston.
