Diethrick gets re-elected to Babe Ruth League Board of Directors

 

The following is a snippet from 'The Bullpen' (Winter 2008 issue), Babe Ruth League's official publication, of an announcement of the re-election of Russell Diethrick, Jr. and two other members to the Babe Ruth League International Board of Directors.
 
RUSSELL E. DIETHRICK, JR. of Jamestown, New York, has been involved with Babe Ruth Baseball since 1955 when he began managing. From 1958 to 1977, Russ served in various positions such as ex-officio member of the league's Board of Directors, tournament director at the state and regional levels, and as President of the Jamestown Babe Ruth League. In 1980, he was asked to serve on the Advisory Board of Babe Ruth League, Inc. Between 1980 and 2004, Russ served as a World Series Host President eleven times. He was honored for his extraordinary and exemplary service to Babe Ruth League, Inc. by being inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1997. Retired as Director of the Jamestown Parks, Recreation & Conservation Department where he worked from 1964 to 1991, he then fulfilled the position of Development Director of Babe Ruth League, Inc. until 1993. A man of many honors, Jamestown renamed their College Stadium "Russell E. Diethrick, Jr. Park" in 1997 In 2001, Russ Diethrick received the distinct honor of being named Chautauqua County Man of the Year. Russ, currently employed by the Jamestown Savings Bank, is a lifelong resident of Jamestown, New York where he resides with his wife June.
