- Shawnee Topping became the first girl to play in a Babe Ruth World Series as she played first base and right field for Salem, Oregon.
- The fledgling cable company ESPN broadcasted the series.
- Jamestown was granted the 13-Year-Old World Series again in 1981.
- In 1984 Jamestown hosts its first 16-18 World Series.
- In 1985 Jamestown gets its first look at a 13-15 World Series.
- In 1986 Jamestowns holds its first Babe Ruth League Training Center. Over the years many World Series host committees are trained in Jamestown.
- Two years later in 1987 Jamestown once again hosted the 13-15 World Series.
- 1990 marks Jamestown’s 10th anniversary of hosting its first World Series. Also the 10th anniversary of the 13-Year-Old World Series was celebrated by Jamestown hosting another 13-Year-Old World Series.
- The city hosted its second 16-18 World Series in 1992.
- The second ever 16-Year-Old World Series was held in Jamestown in 1995.
- 1997 marks the third time for a 16-18 World Series.
- Also in 1997, Russ Diethrick gets elected into the Babe Ruth League Hall of Fame
- In 1999 Babe Ruth 12 and Under Softball has its first World Series and Jamestown is chosen as the host city.
- Manassas, Virginia wins the first ever Softball World Series for 12 and Under.
- Jamestown and the 13-Year-Old World Series celebrate their 20th anniversaries together with a series in Jamestown in 2000.
- In 2003 the 16-Year-Olds come again and Syracuse, NY wins the championship.
- Syracuse became the only team from both New York and the Middle Atlantic Region to win a World Series that was hosted in Jamestown.
- In 2005 Jamestown and the 13-Year-Old World Series hook up again and share their 25th anniversary.
- Jamestown hosts the 2008 13-Year-Old World Series. Host Committee provides both live statistics and game recaps on a committee web site for first time in BRWS history.
- Jamestown announces they will host 14-Year-Old World Series in 2011.
